Wood for the fireplace -Source –
Use the wood from the woodshed to the left of the front door or directly behind the cabin, up the hill (this is indoor wood.
The water cistern is in the pump room behind a wall. (you can see only the white top of the cistern).
There are two fishing line attached to floats in the cistern tank and arrow indicators on each line to indicate how much water is in the cistern. If the arrow gets down to ¼ tank reduce water usage.
The pump should come on briefly every hour during the day to refill the cistern.

Turn the temperature up and down as needed. And then turn down to 100 when leaving.
BBQ is natural Gas. If the starter button fails, use a match or lighter in the hole in the left side of the BBQ. The BBQ tools are hanging in the mudroom. Please turn off and clean the BBQ and tools after use.
If the fire risk is low to moderate as indicated on the
sign on Highway 40 on the way in, you may light a fire in the fire pit (beside
the cabin). If the fire rating is higher, please refrain. You can roast
marshmallow, hot dogs etc. Douse with water when finished.
Wood Source – from
woodshed beside the fire pit. (this is poorer quality “outdoor wood”).
Our lot is long and narrow, and the river is downhill. To get to the river good walking shoes are nice! If you look out the kitchen window and down the hill to the right, you will see a gate near a bench. Go through the gate and down the “steps”, (use the rope handrail and WATCH YOUR STEP), then follow the path through the forest, grab a chair along the way if you like. You will see our two-story fort as you walk to the river. When you get to “the bridge”, (logs and plants over some water, follow the path a little left, up and across the berm you will see the Ghost river.
